William Kentridge: Imitate the Sleep of Stones
William Kentridge’s exhibition at Athens’ Hellenic National Archaeological Museum brings contemporary sculpture and moving images into conversation with ancient objects. Curated by Burcu Fikretoğlu, the presentation includes steel figures, paper silhouettes and a diorama using reflected projections. Its exploration of Orpheus and Eurydice connects with Kentridge’s staging of Monteverdi’s opera, while extending into themes of displacement, memory and transformation. The museum lists the public exhibition run from 30 October 2026 to 24 January 2027.
