Requires eligible-country nationality or long-term residence; applicants outside Germany/their country of origin also need a long-term residence permit and/or five years residence there. Other African nationals may qualify through eligible-country residence; use the full FAQ country list. Age 23+, at least two years civil-society professional/voluntary work, organisational connection and English. Students and recipients of another fellowship/funding in the same year excluded.

- For participants coming from abroad: EUR650/month, return airfare, housing, local transit pass, health insurance and visa-fee reimbursement. Funding conditional on German Foreign Office support.
