Women’s Studio Workshop Artist’s Book Residency Grant
Women’s Studio Workshop offers an eight- to ten-week residency to create a limited-edition artist’s book. Eligible applicants worldwide can receive a weekly stipend, housing, studio access and capped production support. The application combines digital materials with a mailed physical mock-up, so Africa-based applicants should allow delivery time.

- Women, trans, intersex, nonbinary and genderfluid artists worldwide. The FAQ explicitly permits applicants outside the United States. Students may apply only when their academic programme does not overlap the residency. Partners and children cannot accompany this grant.

- A 200-word project description, CV, budget, up to ten images and image list; physical book mock-up with one or two finished spreads and a shipping form.
- How to apply
- Upload the first five required components through the official Submittable route; mail the mock-up and shipping form to WSW. Read the current edition allocation and sales agreement before applying.
- Selection process
- An external jury selects recipients. The book edition and sales are subject to the organiser’s stated contract; exact arrangements are finalised on award.
- Admission & access
- Digital application plus postal mock-up. Part of the proposed book must be hand-printed.
