Osei Bonsu joins Documenta 16’s extended curatorial team

British-Ghanaian curator Osei Bonsu has been named a curatorial advisor to Documenta 16, ArtReview reports. He joins Timea Junghaus and Noam Segal in advisory roles, while artist and composer Raven Chacon becomes curator-at-large. The appointments expand the team led by artistic director Naomi Beckwith, alongside the core curators announced previously. The exhibition is scheduled for 12 June to 19 September 2027 in Kassel, Germany.

Congolese curator calls for museums to support civic dialogue

Congolese curator Henry Bundjoko Banyata has argued that the Institut des musées nationaux du Congo should play a stronger role in civic dialogue and cultural memory, ACP reports. In an interview in Kinshasa, he called for heritage to receive greater political attention and for museums to connect communities with their shared histories. His remarks present a vision for the institution’s public role, rather than an announcement of a new programme.
